WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Steve Kagen, M.D. released the following statement today after the Senate passed the bipartisan jobs bill – the HIRE Act- to spur private sector hiring and help rebuild our crumbling infrastructure.
“I’m pleased to see that the Senate could come together and pass the HIRE Act today,” said Dr. Kagen. “This bi-partisan jobs bill headed to the President’s desk is another step in the right direction for our economy. It cuts taxes for small businesses and invests in our nation’s transportation systems and vital infrastructure.”
“As we continue to take action to create the jobs we need and work our way back into prosperity, I look forward to further bipartisan support from the U.S. Senate.”
The fiscally responsible Hiring Incentives to Restore Employment (HIRE) Act, passed by the House of Representatives last week, is completely paid for, fully complying with the Pay-As-You-Go budget rules enacted earlier this year.
