- Expansion of the Shawano County Rural Health Initiative in Shawano, WI ($75,000) – This funding will allow the Shawano Rural Health Initiative to serve an additional 75 farm families, while maintaining current services for some 210 farm families. Funding would allow for the hiring of additional clerical staff, and the acquisition of mobile health delivery equipment to support the delivery of on-site services, especially in the most remote parts of the county, and a full-time nurse practitioner. Requested by the Shawano County Rural Health Initiative for Fiscal Year 2008.
- Congressman Kagen introduced the Rural Veterans Health Care Access Act (H.R. 4123), which would create a pilot program to allow vets living more than 30 miles from a Department of Veterans Affairs facility with a licensed mental health provider to receive vouchers to pay for counseling at a licensed private facility.
- Stockbridge-Munsee Library Museum – General Fund – Exhibits ($143,000) – These funds would be used by the Stockbridge-Munsee Community, Band of Mohican Indians in Bowler, Wisconsin, for the purpose of general expenses for the Stockbridge-Munsee Museum to continue maintaining historical archives, collections; and conducting cultural preservation activities. Requested by the Stockbridge-Munsee Community, Band of Mohican Indians for Fiscal Year 2009.
