"Responsibility must begin somewhere. Let it begin with BP.
“Wall Street corporations must pay for their own mistakes – not the taxpayers.
"I appreciate President Obama’s efforts and will continue to monitor BP’s compliance with their responsibility to rebuild the lives of all affected and restore the sensitive Gulf environment."
This Monday, Dr. Kagen introduced the ‘‘Oil Spill Responsibility Act of 2010,’’ which seeks $25 billion from BP to be deposited in the U.S. Treasury to pay for costs related to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill disaster in the Gulf of Mexico.
In the lat 48 hours, 30 other members of the House of Representative have signed on to the ‘‘Oil Spill Responsibility Act of 2010’’ and the measure continues to gather support.
