APPLETON — U.S. Rep. Steve Kagen, D-Appleton, will sponsor a one-day seminar on growing and developing a small business on May 7 at the Richard & Margot Warch Campus Center at Lawrence University.

Government Contracting and Financing for Small Business will provide ideas and guidance for small businesses that are looking to take advantage of opportunities for partnering with government.

Small Business Administration district director Eric Ness and representatives from the Wisconsin Procurement Institute will discuss techniques for obtaining government contracts.

Bank representatives will be on hand to review financing options. Lenders urge participants to provide detailed business plans.

The event is free. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. in the Julie Esch Hurvis Room, with sessions continuing until 4 p.m. Those interested in registering can contact Amanda at (920) 380-0061 or Amanda. [email protected].
