KAGEN APPLAUDS JOBS SAVED IN GILLETT
(GILLETT, WI) Congressman Steve Kagen, M.D. is helping small business save jobs in Northeast Wisconsin. Kagen welcomed news that Verrette Materials, Inc, and the Champion Company of Gillett will be able to save as many as 50 jobs due to a Business & Industry Guaranteed Loan from United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development
“Small businesses are the backbone of our economy and I am working hard to invest our tax dollars here at home helping them create the jobs we need to work our way back into prosperity,” said Kagen.
The two companies will receive $4,170,000 through a program established by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and administered through Heartland Business Bank of DePere.
The funds will be used for debt refinancing and permanent working capital.
“As a small business owner I know that one of the toughest challenges is maintaining a healthy, prosperous workforce,” Kagen added. “We are investing in people and the jobs that will sustain communities throughout Northeast Wisconsin.”
USDA Rural Development’s mission is to increase economic opportunity and improve the quality of life for all rural Americans.
