KAGEN ROUNDS UP BIPARTISAN SUPPORT FOR LCS LETTER TO PRESIDENT OBAMA

Kagen gets entire Wisconsin delegation to stand behind Marinette’s bid to build Navy’s Littoral Combat Ship

APPLETON, W.I. – Congressman Steve Kagen, MD was joined today by every Republican and Democrat in the Wisconsin Congressional delegation in a letter to President Obama supporting Marinette Marine’s bid to build the U.S. Navy’s Littoral Combat Ship.

“In Northeast Wisconsin, we have a proud tradition of working hard and making the highest quality products anywhere,” said Kagen.  “We live up to the phrase: Wisconsin Made – Wisconsin Great.”

“I’m proud to be joined in this effort by all of my colleagues across Wisconsin in support of the talented workers in Marinette and Sturgeon Bay.  I appreciate that we have such strong bipartisan support for a fair process in determining the award of the LCS contract.”

“I remain extremely confident that if Marinette Marine is competing on a level playing field – they will win the LCS contract, and our shipbuilding industry will be reinvigorated to levels not seen since World War II.”
