Kagen Announces Over $2.5 Million for King Veterans Home

KAGEN ANNOUNCES OVER $2.5 MILLION FOR KING VETERANS HOME

APPLETON, WI — Congressman Steve Kagen, M.D. has been working hard for our veterans.  Today, Kagen announced a new grant for nearly $1 million, the latest in a series of investments totaling over $2.5 million, for much needed repairs and improvements to the Wisconsin State Veterans Home in King, Wisconsin.

“Bringing our hard earned tax dollars back to Wisconsin is a good thing, and when used to improve the care of our veterans, it is even better,” said Dr. Kagen.

“I am very grateful that the Veterans Administration continues to support the needs of Wisconsin veterans,” continued Dr. Kagen “and I will continue to work hard to guarantee our veterans receive the benefits they have earned.”

A series of three grants over recent weeks from the Veterans Administration total $2,558,661 and provide for 65% of anticipated costs for upgrades to security measures, facility repairs and remodeling of outdated equipment.   The state of Wisconsin has guaranteed the balance of necessary funding for these critical improvements that affect the quality of care at the King Veterans Home.
