KAGEN  VISITS  MARION  BODY  WORKS

MARION, WI- Congressman Steve Kagen, M.D. was in Marion last week as part of his listening tour across the northern tier of Wisconsin’s eighth congressional district.

Dr. Kagen toured Marion Body Works on Thursday, joined by company presidents Curt Ignacio and Jim Simpson, as well as Marion mayor Pat Mielke for a discussion afterward.

It was really good to have a member of our Washington representation here,” Simpson said.   “We’re always proud to show off our facility.”

Talk ranged from the state of the economy to MBW’s ongoing relationship with Oshkosh Defense Corp. to the uncommon stability of the company’s workforce.

“Marion Body Works is a great company to work for,” Mielke said.  “It’s very much like a family.”

Dr. Kagen began his tour in Marinette on Wednesday, and included stops in Crivitz, Wausaukee, Niagara, Crandon, Rhinelander and Minocqua.  He stressed the importance of gathering feedback from businesses and working people alike.

“We need more jobs,” Dr. Kagen said, adding “and it will be small businesses like Marion Body Works that will help us to work our way back into prosperity.”
